Thank you for the beautiful reminder. I just spent months felting 36 small animals that ai gave to people at our alumni gathering and it was one of the most meaningful things I’ve done in recent years - both the making and the giving.

This is beautifully expressed, Allegra.

Creativity IS rebellion, but also restoration: the quiet work of reweaving what the (dominant and domineering) culture keeps tearing apart. Every act of making is an act of remembering our belonging to the world, a refusal to be reduced to consumption or output.

I recently explored a similar current in a 10-part series I called Complexity. It is an inquiry into how creativity, perception, and moral imagination intersect. Your reflection captures the same message: that the courage to create is not an escape, but resistance and renewal.

Thank you for this reminder that even the smallest creative gesture tilts the world ever so slightly toward wholeness.
